Ten questions to ask any provider before you migrate your client list, including the ones about leaving.

Switching systems is disruptive enough that most businesses only do it every few years. It's worth twenty minutes of hard questions before you commit.

Ask about the boring things

  • Can I export my clients, pets and bookings myself, at any time?
  • What happens to my data if I cancel?
  • How many staff seats are included, and what does the next one cost?
  • Are payment fees on top of the subscription?
  • Who do I reach when something breaks on a Saturday?

Test it with your actual week

Demos are built to look good. During a trial, put through a real multi-service booking, a late cancellation, a partial refund and a pet with two owners. Those four cases expose most limitations.

Count the switching cost honestly

Import quality, staff retraining and one messy month are part of the price. A provider that helps with the migration is worth more than one that's a few pounds cheaper.
