Getting started with JAP/6 min

How to prepare your first day

Going live is easier if you rehearse a normal day the evening before. This is the list to run through.

What you end up with: A first day where nothing has to be improvised.

Steps

  1. Load tomorrow's bookings

Every pet arriving should already exist in JAP with an owner attached.

  2. Check the day view

Open the dashboard and read it as if you were the person opening up.

  3. Confirm who's on

Shifts in, tasks assigned, one person nominated for questions.

  4. Do one full run-through

Book, check in, add a note, check out, invoice. Fix whatever felt slow.

  5. Keep the old system for a week

Not as a fallback you use, but as a safety net you don't have to think about.

Recommended setup

  • Go live on a normal day, not your busiest one.
  • Tell clients nothing on day one — they should just notice things run smoothly.

Tips

  • The dashboard's today view is the screen to have open at the front desk.
