How to get your team using JAP
Software gets used when it makes someone's shift easier on the first day, not when it's explained well. Aim for one habit at a time.
What you end up with: A team that reaches for JAP without being asked.
Steps
Pick one habit to start
Usually check-in. It's frequent, visible and instantly useful.
Show, don't document
Ten minutes standing next to someone beats a written guide nobody opens.
Move the source of truth
Once check-in is in JAP, stop keeping the paper version. Two systems means neither is trusted.
Add the next habit a week later
Notes, then tasks, then invoicing.
Ask what's annoying
The person doing it forty times a day knows what's wrong with your setup.
Recommended setup
- Give one person on each shift the 'ask me' role for the first fortnight.
Tips
- Staff only see what their role allows, which makes the app less intimidating for a new starter.
